Construction Updates
7/26/17 - Update
SECOND AVE:
Gravel has been laid and edge drains are being installed. The sanitary sewer laterals are being completed today. The water tie in will occur within the next two weeks.
LAKEVIEW DR:
The power lines will be relocated on August 8th and August 9th by Consumer’s Energy. THERE WILL BE NO POWER OR PHONE LINES DURING THE DAY ON AUGUST 8TH AND AUGUST 9th while construction crews work in the area. The sewer line cannot be replaced without the power lines relocated. The power will be restored in the evening but due to the lines being in the way of construction, utility lines have to be disconnected and moved during the day while construction takes place. The water tie in will occur within the next two weeks.
SECOND ST:
Pulverizing will begin later next week. Following that, construction crews will be onsite to begin repairs.
6/28/2017 - Update
LAKEVIEW DR:
Water service hook-ups will be completed next week and the old water line will be shut off. Residents will be notified during intermittent water turn offs for connections. Due to utility lines in the way of construction, there will be a planned one day power outage that will be scheduled soon. Residents will be notified as soon as we have a date.
SECOND AVE:
Grading will begin the end of next week and steps will be taken to prepare the area for curb and gutter.
WASHINGTON BLVD:
Striping and hydrant painting will be scheduled soon.
6/14/2017 - Update
LAKEVIEW DR & SECOND AVE:
Construction crews are continuing to make progress towards completion. Due to utility lines in the way of construction, there will be a planned one day power outage that will be scheduled in the next two weeks. Residents will be notified as soon as we have a date. Please keep checking our website for additional updates. The water main has been installed and tested. During the next two to three weeks, there will be intermittent water service interruptions as individual water services are connected to the main.

Washington Blvd. was hyrdroseeded today.
6/2/2017 - Update
On Monday, June 5, construction crews will be working on connecting the water main. Water service will be interrupted for the following areas starting at 10:00am on Monday, June 5: Second Avenue - from M-50 to Lakeview Drive; Lakeview Drive - from Buddy's on the Beach to Fourth Avenue; and McArthur Street - from Fourth Avenue to Second Avenue. The anticipated time frame for restoration is a few hours, but please be aware that during construction unforeseen circumstances may arise. Our construction crews will work diligently until water service is restored.
WASHINGTON BLVD:
The final top coat will be applied on Monday, June 5. There will be brief periods where driveway access will be unavailable during this final stage of construction.
5/31/2017 - Update
LAKEVIEW DR & SECOND AVE:
The water main has been installed and is being tested. Starting Monday, June 5, individual water service connections will begin and will last for approximately three weeks. There will be intermittent periods of water service interruption during this process. The construction crew will work diligently to keep water service disruption to a minimum but please be aware that unforeseen circumstances can arise during construction.
A Consumer’s Energy light at the intersection of Second Avenue and Lakeview will be temporarily disconnected during the construction process for the safety of the construction crew and residents. As construction progresses down the road, residents will be temporarily without power. Residents onsite will be notified of the power service interruption. It’s also anticipated that these service interruptions will be a brief period of time and not for an entire day.
WASHINGTON BLVD:
The final top course pavement is scheduled for next week. Seeding will take place after the final pavement application.
5/18/2017 - Update
WASHINGTON BLVD:
The road has been based and levelled. There are a few asphalt spots that will be repaired. Sidewalks have been completed and driveway entrances are being completed. Final paving and restoration will be completed in about 2 to 3 weeks.
LAKEVIEW DR:
The water main installation is about 80% complete and should be fully installed by the end of the week. The water main will be tested next week and new water service hook ups will follow. Sewer main installation and service hook-ups will follow. Access to homes will be very limited in the coming moth or so.

Paving will start on Washington Blvd. today.
5/3/2017 - Update
LAKEVIEW DR:
The curb and asphalt has been removed on Lakeview Drive. The contractor will be flagging utility areas and will discuss with individual homeowner’s yard preparations that may be needed. The intersection of Lakeview and Second Avenue will be closed, please avoid this entire area.
TUPPER LAKE ST:
The final top coat is being applied to the road today.
WASHINGTON BLVD:
Concrete, curb radiuses and curb drains are being finished later this week along with final grading preparations. Washington Blvd. will be hard topped next week and the final course of pavement will be applied in June.
5/1/2017 - Update
TUPPER LAKE ST:
The paving for Tupper Lake Street that was originally scheduled for May 1st has been delayed due to the rain. It has been postponed until May 2nd or until weather permits.
WASHINGTON BLVD:
Final roadwork grading and final preparations are being done. Paving will be scheduled in the next coming weeks.
LAKEVIEW DR:
Rotomilling was done May 1st and mailboxes are in place on Fourth Avenue. A garbage dumpster is in place on the West end of Lakeview Drive for Lakeview Drive residents. Union Bank has granted permission for residents to park in Dr. Stuart’s old office parking lot. PLEASE use common courtesy when parking. NO boats, trailers or recreational vehicles at that location (if you need help on finding a place to park these, please contact the Village and we will assist you on finding a place to store these types of vehicles). Work will begin in the next several days, and as explained at the informational meeting, it will become difficult and impossible for you to have access to your driveway during construction. Please exercise patience during this very difficult construction season.
